Key Duties:
Team Leadership and Management
Recruit, hire, and manage a team of web developers, designers, and other support staff.
Provide direction, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure team success. Oversee team workloads, project timelines, and deliverables, ensuring high standards are met.
Website Maintenance
Ensure websites are operational, secure, and up-to-date with the latest content, updates, and functionality.
Content Management
Oversee the content management system (CMS), ensure timely updates, and collaborate with content creators to maintain accurate and relevant information. Performance Monitoring: Monitor site performance (speed, uptime, errors) and optimize the website’s speed and performance using tools like Google Analytics, Lighthouse, and others. Technical Troubleshooting: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve website issues such as broken links, downtime, or site errors, and work with hosting providers or developers as needed.
Website Security
Implement and maintain site security protocols, ensuring protection against cyber threats and vulnerabilities. Regularly back up websites and restore when necessary.
SEO and Web Optimization
Collaborate with the marketing team to optimize the site for search engines (SEO), enhance user experience (UX), and ensure web accessibility.
Design and Functionality Enhancements
Work with designers and developers to enhance the website’s visual appeal, user interface, and overall functionality. Ensure mobile responsiveness and cross-browser compatibility.
Plugin and Software Management
Regularly update and manage plugins, integrations, and third-party software to keep websites running smoothly and securely.
Analytics and Reporting
Generate and analyze web traffic and user engagement reports, providing insights and recommendations for improving site effectiveness.
Compliance
Ensure websites meet legal requirements and industry standards, including ADA compliance, data privacy regulations (GDPR), and other applicable policies. Collaborative Projects: Work with internal teams (marketing, IT, LSFC, HR, and others) to support web related projects, initiatives, and launches.
Essential Qualifications
Skills/Certifications:
Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web languages. Familiarity with website builders, particularly Squarespace. Knowledge of web hosting services, domain management, and DNS configuration.
Experience with SEO best practices, web analytics, and UX/UI optimization. Strong understanding of website security protocols and tools.
Experience with design software (ie. Figma) is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively. Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
Preferred Qualifications (not required)
Bachelor’s degree in web development, computer science, IT, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
5+ years of experience in website management, web development, or a related role. Experience with e-commerce platforms and payment integration is a plus.
Basic graphic design skills.
Certification in web development, web security, or related fields.
